One Month

Grayson is such a good baby :)
We are having so much fun being new parents. He is such a joy.
Right now he's been sleeping 3-4 hours at a time and waking up basically only to eat... Then right back to sleep!
So we get lots of snuggles

I think one of my favorite things of all time are his little baby toes!

Haha! I sat him up and snapped this picture quick! He just cracks me up!

I just love him so much. Everyday I seem to love him more!
One of the hardest things right now is breastfeeding. It's been such a struggle because I have to let him try (he takes about an hour and then is still hungry). So then I have to give him a bottle after that. AND then I have to pump. It's about a 2 hour long process and then I have to start all over in an hour or two. Its just crazy. I'm working so hard at it because I really want to exclusively breast feed. I am praying we can make it. He is still not even supposed to be out of my womb yet so I am trying to stay patient. These days are hard but he is so worth it!

His nursery really came together great!
We are so happy to be home!

A new mom's favorite things

One of my favorite things so far has been watching Benjy with Grayson. He loves him so much.
I am so grateful for a husband who is and always will be a great father to our children.

Baby-wearing
Grayson sleeps so much, but sometimes he will wake up and cry when I put him down. So wearing him in a sling is a win-win! Mommy can get stuff done in he house and snuggle at the same time!

Bath-time!
Grayson loves getting baths!
Its so fun!

And of course...
SNUGGLES!

Welcome to the World, Grayson!

After 34 crazy weeks of pregnancy, and nearly a month of hospitalization with multiple bleeding episodes, the doctors had decided it was time for Grayson to come.

Although we were SO excited to meet him, I remember being so scared for him. I just kept thinking "He's not ready". I prayed constantly that the Lord would prepare him.

Grayson Michael Satorius was born
June 21st at 2:41pm

He was
4 pounds 4 ounces
16.5 inches long

The most perfect little baby I had ever seen

Grayson was a champ from the beginning. Through all my bleeding episodes he stayed strong, and then once he was born he only needed a little bit of oxygen support in his nose for a few days. From there he needed to learn how to eat, as babies this young don't have the coordination to suck-swallow-breathe.

I would be lying if I said that being in the hospital all that time wasn't the hardest thing I've ever done in all my life. The NICU portion was probably the worst. Watching him struggle with tubes and needle pricks,  grasping at any chance I could get to touch or hold him, and clinging to any hopes of progress towards going home. It was so emotional. I was a brand new mom, stuck in a hospital, worried about my baby, sleeping on a tiny fold out couch maybe 4 hours a night, pumping breast milk every 2 hours, and doing most of it alone while Benjy was at work during the day time.

The only thing that got me through each day was seeing him make progress. It was a tiny bit every day but it brought my hope. He really did very well through it all. He never had any set backs and made perfect, slow and steady progress...

And after 2 and 1/2 weeks in the NICU we were finally able to take him home!

The day was July 8th, our 2 year anniversary!
It was the best anniversary present we could have ever imagined!

Grayson, you are the most wonderful gift the Lord has ever given us! You are such a strong little boy and we are so proud of you!
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
